Our core services in detail
Strategic planning
Most companies we meet have a rough idea of where they want to be in three years. Few have written it down in a way that connects to monthly actions. Our strategic planning service turns ambition into a document your team can actually follow.
We start with a half-day workshop where we interview the leadership team individually, then bring everyone together to align on priorities. From that session, we produce a strategic plan covering market positioning, revenue targets by quarter, hiring milestones, and capital allocation. The plan includes a one-page summary for board use and a detailed version with responsibility assignments.
- Half-day leadership workshop (on-site or video)
- Individual stakeholder interviews (up to six people)
- Written three-year strategic plan with quarterly milestones
- Two follow-up review sessions at 90-day intervals
Typical duration: three to four weeks from kickoff to final document.
Financial reporting and analysis
Your accountant prepares your year-end figures. We build the reports you need between those filings: monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and margin analysis by product or service line.
We work inside your existing accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or FreeAgent) to set up automated reports that pull through each month with minimal manual input. The goal is that by week two of each month, you have a clear picture of the previous month's performance without chasing your bookkeeper.
One client in the construction sector told us their monthly close used to take eleven days. After our setup it dropped to four, because we eliminated duplicate data entry between their project management tool and Sage.
- Audit of current chart of accounts and reporting gaps
- Custom dashboard design (we use your software, not a separate tool)
- Monthly management accounts template
- Rolling twelve-month cash flow forecast
- Quarterly review call to refine reports as the business changes
Operations improvement
We spend time inside your operation before we recommend anything. That usually means two to three days on-site, observing workflows, talking to frontline staff, and timing key processes. This is not a clipboard exercise. We are looking for the specific points where work stalls, errors repeat, or people compensate for a broken system with extra effort.
The output is a prioritised improvement plan. Each item includes estimated cost to fix, expected annual saving, and who should own the change. We rank items by effort-to-impact ratio so you can start with the changes that pay for themselves fastest.
Past examples: a logistics firm that was double-handling 30% of its parcels because of a labelling error in their warehouse software; a professional services company where senior staff spent nine hours a week on admin tasks that a £400/month tool could automate; a manufacturer whose shift handover process added 45 minutes of downtime per day.
- Two to three day on-site assessment
- Staff interviews (typically eight to fifteen people)
- Process mapping of critical workflows
- Written improvement plan with ROI estimates
- Optional: 90-day implementation support
Leadership and team coaching
Growing companies often promote their best technical people into management roles without any support. The result is frustrated managers and confused teams. Our coaching programme gives new and experienced managers practical tools for running their teams.
Sessions are one-to-one, sixty minutes, delivered by video call every two weeks over a six-month period. We cover delegation frameworks, difficult conversations, meeting structures, and how to set expectations that people actually remember. Each session ends with a specific action the manager will try before the next call.
We also run half-day team alignment workshops for leadership groups of three to eight people. These are useful when a company is going through a transition: new ownership, a merger, rapid hiring, or a shift in strategy. The workshop surfaces disagreements that are slowing decisions and creates explicit agreements about roles, authority, and communication.
- Twelve fortnightly one-to-one coaching sessions
- Practical frameworks (not theory lectures)
- Written development plan for each participant
- Half-day team alignment workshops available separately
How a typical engagement works
Every project follows the same basic shape, though the details vary. Here is what to expect from first call to final delivery.
Discovery call
A 30-minute phone or video call where you describe what is going on and we ask questions. No charge, no obligation. By the end we will both know whether there is a fit.
Scoping and proposal
If we agree to proceed, we send a written proposal within five working days. It includes the scope of work, timeline, deliverables, and a fixed fee. You review it, ask questions, and sign when ready.
Delivery
We do the work. Depending on the service, this involves on-site visits, remote analysis, workshops, or a combination. You get weekly progress updates by email, and we flag issues as they come up rather than saving them for a final report.
Handover and follow-up
You receive all deliverables in editable formats. We walk your team through the findings and recommendations in a live session. Two follow-up calls are included at 30 and 90 days to check progress and answer questions.
